playtime: ~4 hours
didn't end up playing all that much today 'cause my body decided it wanted to kick me with a migraine and stomach problems. BUT!
i made a creeper farm (from this video!) finally :3 i've gotten a good few stacks from it so far, i haven't honestly hung around it like i'm supposed to all that much because i keep getting distracted-- but i used said stacks to get me a nice 128 tnt and go blast mining for some netherite, to which i got i think ~16 ancient debris? pretty good! then also went to a bastion to get a netherite upgrade template and then made a portal connection from my current base to spawn since i'm like 4k blocks out
got a nice lil netherite chestplate and boots made, got a trim on the boots but i wanna get the trim from the trial chambers for the chestplate and the leggings so... i gotta figure out how those work. i know where one is already 'cause i go into spectator mode sometimes but i need to actually watch some videos to figure out where to start and all that since they honestly look kinda complicated (but maybe i'm just stupid)
anyway, that's all of what i did in-game today... but OUT of game-- i also started learning how to make TEXTURE PACKS! i retextured the dark oak door (shown in the images at the bottom) since i honestly just don't like how saturated dark oak is and-- while i'm not that experienced with pixel art, i think i did pretty good! i pretty heavily referenced the original dark oak door and also slapped some noise overlays on it but i am very proud of it :] honestly might use dark oak doors at some point with this pack eheheh
i don't think i have enough in me to make a texture pack that redoes everything in the game, but there are a few blocks that just irk me or i think could look better with some slight changes. i've tried to find some texture packs that i do like but the problem is i want something vanilla-esque that's not super upscaled and also not oversmoothed. every texture pack i can find nowadays is just so smooth or bland it really bothers me... so why not do it myself? i'm an artist anyway, i'm sure i can translate some skill with that to minecraft textures if i try hard enough lol
so that's where we're at! thanks for reading today :]
